Social media platform TikTok has removed a total of 81,518,334 million videos deemed to be in violation of community guidelines or terms of service during the period from April 1 to June 30, 2021.
Especially regarding covid-19, the videos that were deleted were no less.
“In the second quarter, TikTok removed 27,518 videos related to hoaxes or false information about COVID-19. There were 83 percent of these videos that were removed before being reported by users. In addition, 87.6 percent of these videos were removed within 24 hours of being posted, and 69.7 percent of the videos were not watched,” the TikTok report reads.
In addition, the Covid-19 Information Center created by TikTok in collaboration with the WHO and the CDC has been viewed more than 921 million times by users around the world.
In line with the activities currently being carried out by YouTube and Facebook, TikTok has also banned and removed hoax content or misleading content about COVID-19, vaccines, and anti-vaccine disinformation.
