Manchester United beat West Ham United in the fifth match of the English Premier League 2021-2022 which took place at the London Olympic Stadium.
Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims that, Cristiano Ronaldo should have received a penalty when they traveled to West Ham United headquarters. He blamed the referee after the Red Devils star did not get the penalty.
“Ronaldo should obviously get two penalties. Hopefully that doesn’t mean Cristiano will never get a penalty,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as quoted by 101 Great Goals, Monday (20/9).
The Norwegian coach was furious with the judge’s decision not to give the Portuguese footballer his due. He also then expressed his frustration by insinuating all the referees in the English Premier League.
Solskjaer hopes that, it’s not a sign that Ronaldo will never get another penalty kick in the Premier League forever. He considered that Ronaldo was very unlucky not to be awarded the penalty.
The incident began when Cirstiano Ronaldo tried to pass Westham defender Kurt Zouma. The French player then made a tackle on Ronaldo.
However, the referee considered that Zouma’s sliding tackle in the forbidden box was not a violation. Although the referee also had time to investigate the incident through VAR.
Meanwhile, Manchester United managed to beat West Ham United with a score of 2-1 in that match. Ronaldo became the player who opened the Red Devils goal in that match. Manchester United’s second goal was scored by Jesse Lingard at the end of the match.
